The agreement between EduCare and the parent or guardian who holds the account.
Last updated: draft version
Draft — not legal advice. This is placeholder wording for review. Final copy must be checked by a qualified lawyer before launch, especially for children's privacy requirements under South Africa's POPIA.
Accounts must be created by a parent or legal guardian aged 18 or older. A child may not create an account. By signing up you confirm that you are the parent or guardian of the learner on the account and that you consent to their use of EduCare.
At signup the parent selects the child's current grade (4, 5, 6 or 7) and enrolled subjects (Mathematics, English Home Language, IsiXhosa Home Language). Content and the homework helper are scoped to that grade. You are responsible for keeping the grade current at the start of each school year.
EduCare is a study aid for schoolwork. You and your child agree not to:
The homework helper is designed to guide learners with questions rather than supply finished answers. It can still make mistakes — its responses should be checked and are not a substitute for a teacher.
We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms. We may change features or these terms; material changes will be communicated to account holders by email or in the app.
Draft position: EduCare is provided as an educational aid without warranty of specific academic results. These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of South Africa. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under the Consumer Protection Act.
